Anna C. Woodring

August 3, 1922 – December 18, 2021

Memory Eternal!

Anna Cmur Woodring fell asleep in the Lord, and was freed from her body on December 18, 2021 having been Blessed with 99 years of a full life.

Born August 3, 1922 in Dunmore, Pennsylvania to John and Mary Bodak Cmur, she would tell you she is a coalminer’s daughter from “The Patch”. After growing up during the Roaring 20’s and the Great Depression, Anna would move to Passaic, New Jersey to work at Botany Mills making uniforms for our soldiers during The War. It was there that she met her husband, Charlie, and became a musician’s wife and mother to their daughter.

By all accounts, Anna was an elegant lady. She was a homemaker, a mother, a factory worker, a caregiver and a bridal consultant. She enjoyed reading, sewing, baking and spending time with her daughter. Anna loved her family, a good party and a pretty dress, being always the fashionista. When Anna became a parishioner at St. Herman’s in Wallingford, a new chapter of her life began. She quickly became involved in all activities of the church she so loved, most especially their “Pierogi Gang” and she loved every minute and every member of it.

In Anna’s later years, she became the “mother” of her neighbors/friends. She was always ready to offer advice (whether it was how a cake should be cut or how a lawn showed be mowed); she made life a little easier for all of us, and we loved her for it. Her sense of humor was sharp, as well as her curiosity and eagerness to learn new things. Even as Anna aged, her enthusiasm to be with others never waned. She was a fixture in her community and loved by many.

Anna is survived by her beloved daughter, Mary Anne Toroney; her son-in-law, Andrew Toroney; her brother, Rev. John Cmur; her niece Mary Linda; her niece and goddaughter Erin Wolter (Steve); her nephew, John David Cmur (Cecelia); and their families, and her goddaughter, Barbara Chambala Beaver (Henry).

She is predeceased by her husband Charles Joseph Woodring; her parents John and Mary Cmur; her sisters, Mary and Mary; and her life-long friend, Mary Dancho Chambala.

Memory Eternal!  Vechnaya Pamyat!
