Memory Eternal!

Elaine (Andras) Greenjack Curtis, 82, of West Chester, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, July 17, 2022. Born on June 14, 1940, in Philadelphia, PA, she was preceded in death by her parents Peter Andras and Mary Conway; her former husbands, Gabriel Curtis whom she shared 15 years of marriage and Stephen Greenjack, Jr., the father of her children with whom she shared 6 years of marriage. Elaine is survived by her daughter Daria (Scott) Miller, son Matthew (Beth) Greenjack Sr., son Paul (Jen) Greenjack, and son Andrew (Anna) Greenjack, and sister-in-law Mary Jones. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Stephen (Erica) and Mark Miller, Matthew Jr., Daniel, Andrew, Alexander, and Alexis Greenjack.

Elaine grew up in Philadelphia running around the neighborhood as a tomboy; as a teenager she grew out of her tomboy phase, entering and winning several beauty pageants. She met her first husband Stephen at a church dance; after Stephen returned from serving overseas in the Army they married.  Stephen passed away after a battle with cancer in 1970, leaving Elaine as a single parent of their four children (ages 5 thru 4 months). When her children were adults, Elaine reacquainted with a high school boyfriend, Gabriel, and they were married in 1999. Elaine and Gabe enjoyed travelling, dining out, and watching the deer in her beloved backyard in Southern Chester County. Both of Romanian descent, they proudly kept their heritage alive and were devoted members of St. Herman’s of Alaska Orthodox Church.

Known as MomMom to her grandchildren, she will be remembered for her great sense of humor, wit, love of life, and adventure. She enjoyed making lasting memories vacationing with her family at the Jersey Shore, Disney World or supporting their numerous sports, dance recitals, and school plays. Elaine enjoyed baking for her family and was famous for her Kentucky Butter Cake, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Blueberry Buckle, and homemade Pumpkin Pie. She was best known for her annual Christmas Eve party for family and friends, where no one went home hungry or with a “lump of coal”. In her later years, she had her faithful companion by her side, her dog Sasha, whom she loved and spoiled like another grandchild.

Memory Eternal!  Vechnaya Pamyat!
