Oleg N. Dudkin

Memory Eternal!

Oleg Dudkin, a WW2 Navy veteran and retired mechanical engineer, died December 3, 2023. He lived in Berwyn, PA.

Mr. Dudkin was born in 1926 in Philadelphia of Russian parentage. Commissioned in the Navy in 1945, he served during WW2 and the Korean War and later retired as lieutenant commander. In 1948, he completed his bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Pennsylvania and went on to work for United Engineers and Constructors until retiring in 1986 as Manager of Projects.

Mr. Dudkin was an especially committed community volunteer. He served on the Tredyffrin Township Planning Commission. He coached Little League and served as a referee for PIAA high school swimming and diving meets for over 25 years. During summer, he enjoyed working as a guide at the Assateague National Seashore Park. However, his most significant contributions were to the Orthodox church community. He notably led the construction of St. Stephen Orthodox Cathedral in Philadelphia and St. Herman of Alaska Orthodox Church in Gradyville, PA He was also a member and interim director of the church choir.

Mr. Dudkin is predeceased by his wife Anna Elizabeth Gregory Dudkin. He later married Genevieve Olivet Dudkin, also now deceased. He is predeceased by his son, Gregory Dudkin (Sue Dudkin).

He is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Dudkin (Henry Neeb) and stepdaughter Carla Reiner (Matthew); his grandchildren Kimberly Dudkin, Melissa Estes (Shane), Christopher Neeb (Jennifer Duffy); Andrew Neeb; Henry Neeb 3rd (Anindita); and step grandchildren Allison, Kellen and Brennan; and his great-grandchildren: Colin Neeb (Christopher); Natasha, Henry 4th, and Oleg Neeb (Henry); Kate, Laney and Ryan Estes (Melissa).

Funeral services will take place at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 9 at St. Herman of Alaska, preceded by visitation at 10 am. Burial services will be private at the Washington Memorial Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations honoring Mr. Dudkin’s memory can be made to St. Herman of Alaska Orthodox Church.
